Maureen Rae, R.N., E-RYT
|
|
Maureen began her yoga journey
at age 13 when first introduced to 'stretching' as part
of her school physical fitness program. The key fit the
lock! ... the door opened ... and the rest is history!
Maureen graduated from Humber College as a Registered
Nurse in 1975 - a life-long dream, and worked for many
years at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto General
Hospital, and the Addictions Research Foundation. Her
involvement in the fitness industry began in 1985, and
she is among the first Canadian instructors to help bridge
the gap between yoga and fitness. |
She is a well-known international presenter
and has presented annually at Canada's premier CanFitPro Conference
since its inception.
Maureen's main yoga teacher is Erich Schiffmann
of Santa Monica, California. Angela Farmer, of Greece, and
T.K.V. and Kausthaub Desikachar, both of India, have been
instrumental in broadening the scope of her yoga studies.
Her teaching style is Vinyasa Flow Yoga - strong, precise
and technical - yet flavoured with feeling, and punctuated
with rest and reflection. More recently, Maureen travelled
to Chicago to study Yin Yoga with Paul Grilley....a life-changing
experience.
Maureen is the creator of a program entitled
DanceYoga a fusion of tai chi, yoga, pilates,
martial arts, various dance modalities all of which
is choreographed to world music.
Since opening the studio in 2002, the studio has been a centre
for Yoga Teacher Training. Maureen travels widely to share
yoga with aspiring yoga teachers. In her spare time she enjoys
cooking for her family, gardening, studying yoga, teaching
at resorts in the Caribbean, and especially - just being quiet.

David Pantano, RYT
David's
yoga practice spans more 10 years prior to taking formal teacher
training in 2006. Although emphasis is placed on proper form
and alignment, David is more interested in the energy released
by the asanas to connect with a deeper sense of the self.
Through practicing asanas, pranayama, mudras, bhandas, relaxation
and meditation, the practitioner comes to unlock internal
energies which propitiate inherent bliss.
David's overriding goal as a yoga instructor is to serve others
by helping them understand their body-mind connection which,
in turn, will help them improve their health and well being,
and ultimately lead to opening their hearts and living from
a happy, healthy and peaceful mind.
