The Other Side
of Yoga: Yin Yoga
Just as the solar, radiant poses are balanced by lunar, cooling
poses to effect a complete practice, the strong Yang athletic-style
yoga practice, which is predominant throughout fitness and
yoga centres throughout North America, begs for a softer Yin
approach. Yin Yoga is an exceptional complement to the more
athletic styles of Yoga. Slowly and methodically targeting
connective tissue and the lymphatic system, Yin Yoga dramatically
allows the body to open, and quiets the mind. The postures
of Yin Yoga are familiar, yet the Yin approach radically changes
the effect. Join Maureen in this quiet, yet powerful session.
Please bring a blanket to this workshop.

Yoga Takes a Seat - yoga
for chair-bound bodies!
Chair-based yoga continues to gain interest as more seniors
and rehab clients are exposed to its possibilities. Yoga is
ideal for healing emotional, physical and psychological hurts.
This workshop will teach you over 25 yoga poses done while
seated, and a further 5 done while using the chair for support.
While gentle in nature, this class will energize from head
to toe, strengthen and increase joint mobility. Visualization
will also be an important part of this workout. Maureen will
discuss how to market this concept to seniors' residences,
community groups, rehab clinics and other groups that traditionally
are not seen as a market for yoga classes.

Viniyoga: Gentle Restorative
Yoga
Based on the Viniyoga tradition of supported and gentle postures,
the integration of specific breathing techniques is used to
bring about individual healing. The elements that make Viniyoga
different from other styles of yoga are the emphasis of linking
breath and movement, and the use of adaptations. Based on
the teachings of Sri Krishnamacharya, this workshop will give
you an understanding of how Viniyoga is different, its infinite
possibilities for healing, and how to incorporate it into
working with classes and when working with specific individuals.

Prenatal Yoga for
Baby Bellies

lead to a perceived "easier" delivery and recovery.
This workshop will give guidelines for teaching yoga to women
